EP 7: I STOLE MY MOTHER'S RING. HERE'S WHY
When I was four or five years old, I stole my mother's gold ring and gave it to another little girl. Not because she asked for it, but because I desperately wanted her to be my friend.
Almost 40 years later, that childhood memory has taken on an entirely new meaning.
In this episode of Stillness of Heart, I explore the delicate balance between giving and receiving, why some of us find it so much easier to give than to accept, and how even the most well-intentioned generosity can sometimes do more harm than good.
Drawing on personal experiences, numerical psychology, Family Constellations, and my work as a therapist, I reflect on the hidden motivations behind excessive giving, the importance of reciprocity in relationships, and the uncomfortable truth that generosity can sometimes cross other people's boundaries.
Most importantly, I invite you to ask yourself a question: If you stopped giving so much, would you still feel worthy of being loved?
Because learning to receive without guilt is just as important as learning to give without losing yourself.
🎧 Bonus practice: My five-minute Prayer to Receive meditation is available for anyone ready to begin changing their relationship with receiving.
